Mercedes Teases New S-Class On The Very Same Day It Leaks

It’s a camouflaged prototype, though, unlike the leaked images.

Following the distraught that the current coronavirus pandemic has been smearing all over the automotive industry, Mercedes-Benz has started to stand on its feet with the resumption of production in its German plant.

Daimler AG, its parent company, announced its return through a video that showcased the company’s new normal in the manufacturing plants – face masks, social distancing, among others. One thing that Daimler also showed towards the end of the video (embedded above) was a teaser of the new Mercedes S-Class

 

The S-Class on the video was under wraps, though, unlike the leaked images of the actual car that we reported earlier today. Coincidence or marketing ploy? That’s beyond us.

Mexico signals auto industry return on eve of restart plan

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) – Mexico’s government gave the green light on Tuesday for the key automotive industry to restart production after weeks of disruption by the coronavirus pandemic, a decision that should pave the way to reopen North American supply chains.

The government’s health committee, which issues binding sanitation rules, said it agreed to add makers of transport equipment, a category that includes automotive and aerospace industries, to the list of activities considered essential.

The decision came ahead of an announcement on Wednesday by President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, who is expected to give more details about how suspended business operations and other activities would reopen in coming weeks.
